There is another reason why vaisnavas will not sometimes indentify oneself
as 'hindus'. It is that by 'hindu' one can mean anything that based on any
of the
rituals or sastras of Vedas. However not anything that is based on a right
thing is the right thing. Nowadays one can eat cow and do all sorts of
nonsence and call oneself hindu. Otherwise Vaisnavs are hindus, but just
better hindus. Ravana may be called hindu, but you will agree that
Vaisnavas are not in the same position.

Can you define the term 'hindu'?

Do you know when for the first time in our Vedas and Upanisadas you find
this
word 'hindu'? I just mean that Visnu and His name is of a different scale.

Anyone who realized Supreme will accept that Visnu is God. Otherwise his
realization is not complite. It whould be nice if you can define what you
mean by
'hindu deity' and where did you find this terms in the sastras.

Not Visnu is mortal and vaisnavas are also not mortal. Do you think that
HanumanJi
ever die?

God is not the 'hindu' god or 'muslim' god or 'canadian' god. The sun is
the same in Canada and in India, in India there is more sun though. In the
same time vasinavas
are very much concern about the land of Sri Rama and Sri Krsna and
therefore they are trying to protect it from Ravana-like hindu pretenders.

Hope this will meet you fine.
