There is a beautiful work on Lord subrahmanya attributed to
shrii aadi shaMkara called " shrii subrahmanya bhujangam. I have text
with translation (by thirupugazh Ganesa Iyer) and I would be typing it
in shortly, after I completely memorize the text. Just to give a
sample from the text,
maahaambodhi tiire maahaapaapa chore
muniindraanukule suhandaagya shaile
guhaayaM vasantaM svabhaasa lasantaM
jaanardhiim harantaM shraayamo guhantaM
(transliteration not correct, may have errors as it is from my memory)
There are around 32 or so such stanzas, and whenever I read I am so
entralled by it.
There are many other great works on murugaan in thamizh. Some of them
like kan^thar anuboothi are already available in the net. Some of my
favorite verses from kan^thar anubuthi, which I often use as a request
to murugaan are
singaara madan^thayar theeneRi pOy
mangaamal irukka varan^tharuvay
sangrama shikaavala velevane
gangaa nathi putra kirupaakarane
and
vaLai patta kai maathodu makkaLenum
thaLai pattazhiyath thagumo thagumo
kiLai pattezhusoor puramum giriyum
thoLai patturuvath thodu vElavane
(madurai transliteration for tamil is used, may have errors as it is
from my memory)
This work is by arunagirinaathar, and all his works are very poetic
and it will be like singing even if someone like me who has no musical
sense reads it.

AUM , AUM is indeed the three worlds, Gross, Subtle and Causal.
I adore Thee, the source of all and meditate on Thy effulgent
divine beauty. Awaken my intuition to realize Thee!
