I think some scientists atleast have a genuine interest as to
see whether the statements like "awareness during deep sleep" are true
or just the ramblings of a schizophrenic (and the vedic seers have
been accused of this disease by certain modern scientists. For example,
Franz alexander in psychoanalytic review writes that the urge for knowing
inward is some kind of artifical schizophrenia.) This is not just restricted
to Western psychologists, since indian physicians also checked the "sanity" of
Ramakrishna.

And why should they ? Scientists can verify that chanting
mantras produces a relaxed state (alpha-wave activity) but they will never
advise you to chant :-) since that would be against "rational thought."

Who is this Crick ? From Watson and Crick of the DNA ? This evolution
by alien invasion has been explored to some depth and rejected, I think.

Hehe. Let us find out and jump on that bandwagon for writing
research proposals in that area :-)
