ARTICLE : SRH Reorganization
In my online discussions with Mr. Vivek Pai about soc.religion.
hindu, my main claims have been justified. I wanted to show that Mr. Pai
was indeed associated with ISKCON and as such, he had besmirched that
organization's good name. I am and have always been a very strong and
enthusiastic supporter of ISKCON. I am deeply pained and saddened that
a person like Mr. Pai has come to be associated with ISKCON in public
perception. Mr. Pai certainly does NOT speak for ISKCON and I wish the
ISKCON leadership would dissociate from him as quickly as possible.
Clearly, Mr. Pai has been involved in trying to remove Mr. Ajay
Shah as moderator of soc.religion.hindu because the latter wanted a
newsgroup named soc.religion.hindu.vaishnava rather than Mr. Pai's
favorite name of soc.religion.vaishnava. It is this thirst for
retribution that has caused Mr. Pai to try to replace Mr. Shah. Of
course, Mr. Pai has argued that he's merely trying to 'expand' the number
of moderators (with moderators of his choosing). This is like what Mr.
Narsimha Rao tried to do with the Election Commissioner T. N. Seshan.
Mr. Rao didn't like Seshan's independence and rectitude; he thus tried
to 'cut Seshan down to size' by appointed two other members to the
Election Commission. It seems that Rao was trying the Pai method (or is
it the other way around)? I trust that no one will be fooled by the Pai
method.
Of course, Mr. Pai tried to change the topic of discussion; he
first tried to distance himself from ISKCON, but when faced with his own
words, he said that he never had tried to dissociate from the
organization. He attacked me personally (calling me a liar) and tried to
avoid the main issues of debate by arguing about coloring books (of all
things). I've tried not to fall for these traps.
Despite the bad press that people like Mr. Pai may have evinced,
I urge everyone to supporter ISKCON, especially as this year is Srila
Prabhupada's Centennial Year. I completely support this organization and
I hope that all of you do too.
