Yes,
Durgam means fort.
(in Sanskrit and someother derivatives of Sanskrit)
Durah means tough or hard
Durgam means which is assocaited with toughness .
So Fort usaually used to be very tough.
and hence Durgam.
I think Durga has nothing to Do with Durgam.
