REQUEST : Hindu Punjabi Mundan Ceremony
I urgently need an answer from a knowledgeable person
about Hindu religious ceremonies. My daughter, who is not that orthodox
wants to have the mundan ceremony of her 14-month old son in the month
of October next. My wife, who is on the other hand quite an orthodox
believer of Sanatana Dharama wants the mundan ceremony of her grandson not
before the beginning of the third year.
Can any body throw some light on the subject. What is the auspicious timing
and what are the real purpose of having this ceremony. Thanks
