It may appear that I'm trying to further stir up this silly issue,
but I am one who claims to be both Hindu and nonHindu. It just
depends upon who I'm talking to at any given time. People who can't
or don't think very deeply about it will immediately conclude that
I'm contradictory or unprincipled, or both, but I don't agree.
I've never yet been given an authoritative (sastric) definition of
the term "Hindu," and so I'm forced (like everyone else) to
arbitrate one or more myself. I don't have a problem with since
there doesn't seem to be an alternative, and I don't lose any sleep
over it. So to respond to your request--no, we can't reasonably
argue about this. I don't think one can scientifically explain the
difference between a nonHindu and Hindu Vaishnava, for "Hinduism"
appears to be a non-sastric term that is yet to be defined. Please
correct me if I'm wrong, thanks.
Hare Krishna. :-)
