ARTICLE: Protest the Gap!

Jai Hind, everybody!

I went shopping yesterday with a friend, and I noticed that The Gap,
in their recently created line of scents, has a new fragrance called
"OM - the sixth scent".

Now, rather than worry about who's "deficiting" in our "tamples" in
Pakistan or what Reuters says about a Shivalingam, here's a direct,
down-to-earth way to flex some Hindu brigade muscle - go to the gap in
your homespun dhoti (saffron preferred), politely explain to the
manager why you feel that "OM - the sixth scent" is offensive to you,
and on your way out the door, pat yourself on the back for being a
proud Hindu.

Also, if you're taking an American Hindu friend with you to protest,
make sure that they use their "official" Hindu name, and have them
carry them namakarana certificate in case the manager asks for it.

-Vivek

P.S. If they don't act to change the sign, have a bunch of friends
show up with pickaxes and shovels, and tell the manager that you
believe that their particular Gap was built on top of a very important
site for Hindus, and should they not wish to cooperate, you'll
"liberate" their store.
