Well, I was talking about Hinduism specifically but in general as well I
think we can say a philosophy that can captivate peoples minds for
centuries is "better" than one that is dismissed immediately.

But "quality assurance" has always been a problem in philosophy.  (Not
that I'm complaining, it meant three easy credits ;-)
