Brief Background on Swami Jyotirmayananda:
Swami Jyotirmayananda was born on February 3, 1931 in a pious
family in Dumari Buzurg, District Saran, Bihar, India. After
embracing Sanyasa at an early age of 22, he practised intense
austerities. For over nine years he was a religious professor
at the Yoga Vedanta Forest Academy. To his Guru, Sri Swami
Sivananda, Swami Jyotirmayananda was a gem. With an unusual
dimension in his range and richness of wisdom, Swamiji never
contradicts the great scriptures of the world, but rather through
his unique explanations, adds to them. He is the author of more
than 30 books on Yoga and Hindu Philosophy. Presently, Swamiji
conducts daily classes in Raja Yoga, Bhagvad Gita, Yoga Vasistha
Hatha Yoga and meditation at his Ashram - the Yoga Reasearch
Foundation located in Miami, Florida
