Jaldhar,
While your reply may have been in jest, its worth repling to just to clear
things up. I probably should have said "genuine Swamis". I believe I
mentioned and specified they should be associated with a Temple and they
should have appropriate clothing and the, later, they should try to find
out the Swami.
Could you imagine the bad karma that would be assumed by asking a Swami to
see their certificate!
Second you don't believe that converting to Hinduism is possible, so what
is the utility of carrying any certificate. I agree that converting to
general Hinduism is not possible, but converting to a specific order is.
How the knowledge of a non-Indian Hindu versus an Indian Hindu would
highly vary; I've known some Indians who didn't know much about their
religion while if one were to convert they would have to be and stay
fairly active.
