NEWS : Banned - Religious Calendars Except Christian
Namaskaar! Apparently not realizing that the present,
common calendar in usage is a Christian calendar
modified by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582 CE, the state of
Kerala has outlawed all other religious calendars. Here
is a radio news broadcast:
The Kerala High Court has ruled

institutions cannot be allowed to
run in accordance with religious
calendar

The Kerala High Court has ruled that the state
government cannot permit government educational
institutions to be run on religious lines or in
accordance with the religious calendar of any particular
community. Mr. Justice S. Shankarasubban gave this
order while considering a petition challenging an order
of the Assistant Educational Officer of Malappuram
district.
The Judge said, education in government schools could
only be secular and the calendars of personal religious
beliefs has no relevance.
