Without seeing the text, I can't really say (I don't have access to a
copy of this Puraana). However, the Puraanas in the taamasic and
raajasic classifications are generally not given as much authority as
the saattvik ones. According to the Gaudiiya Vaishnava view, these
Puraanas are meant for persons who are otherwise uninterested in
Vishnu so that they will be able to follow some kind of religious
principles so that they can gradually advance to the stage of
appreciating Vishnu.
