Since then, some more have been discovered."
Among the above, some may be extant, and some may not be!
2. In another reference, ( "Sriman Mahabharata" Vol. 29, page 4887, published by Bharata Darshana Prakashana, Bangalore) I read =
the following in Kannada:
"There are thirteen shlokas in the form of Upodghata ( 'preface') for the VSN. For the VSN and for those shlokas as well, several Ac=
haryas of the past have written commentaries. Among them, Acharya Sri Shankara of Advaita sampradaya and Sri Parashara Bhatta, the c=
elebrated disciple of Acharya Sri Ramanuja of Vishishta-advaita samradaya have written commentaries for both the VSN and the Upodgha=
ta shlokas. However, Sri Satyasandha yatiraja mahaswami, belonging to the Dvaita sampradaya of Acharya Sri Ananda Tirtha, has writte=
n commentary on the VSN only."
In the pages to follow, the commentary by Sri Satyasandha on the VSN (in lucid Kannada translation) and the quotes in Sanskrit he h=
as selected from other scriptural sources like Vedas, Upanishads, Puranas etc. to elucidate his commentary - are being given in the =
same volume, pages 4918 to 5409.
There is a Phala-shruti at the end of the VSN, upon which Sri Satyasandha has not commented (Ref. page # 5409, footnote).
3. In the books 'Mahabharata-tatparya-nirnaya', 'Bhagavata-tatparya-nirnaya', 'Vishnu -tattva-nirnaya' 'Gita-bhashya', 'Gita-tatp=
arya' and 'Krishna-amrita-maharnava' - all authored by Acharya Sri Ananda Tirtha, his disciple Sri Satyasandha might have found all =
that is needed to comprehend the mind of his Guru in interpreting the VSN!
