It is interesting to note that the Padma Puraana quote to which
Ramakrishnan alludes is nowhere found in Prabhupada's Bhagavad-Gita As It
Is. Knowing this to be the case, it's obvious that this comment has nothing
at all to do with the subject at hand.

Furthermore, as Ramakrishnan has repeatedly characterized Prabhupada's
writings as "comic book translations," I say in response that the proof of
their accuracy is in the pudding, so to speak; anyone who sincerely desires
spiritual life should feel free to hear from Prabhupada and from
Ramakrishnan and decide which one will help him make progress to
liberation. Ramakrishnan claims to be a direct disciple of Lord
Shiva/Krishna/Brahman Himself, and I think that if this is true, it should
show in his manners and in his teachings.

Ultimately, we can argue ad nauseum here about whose translations are
correct, etc, but the bottom line is that both can't be right. Interested
persons should sincerely scrutinize both philosphies and be satisfied only
when their doubts are removed.
