Mahabharat seems to be thought off as a localised affair by most Western
scholars and reading of Mahabharat is disapproved by the Hindu religious
heirarchy. If this is so then the question I ask is what was this great
need that prompted Bhagwaan Krishan to give discourse of no less than 18
chapters? This was supposed to be a private interchange between him and
Arjun. Who was eves dropping? Whoever wrote, how come he/she got it
all? Was he she recording it? There are stated to be some episodes
which were only seen by those with Divya Shakti. How come they are
narrated in detail. Could it be that the original is a commentary as
well, say by a journalist. Many more questions arise in my mind. I
hope you got the gist of it.
As far as I know no commentator has asked these questions. I have no
answers in this area. My integration of my realisation is that one can
begin to realise the truth in the Bhagawat Gita only when one has
reached the state of Sannyaas through Smadhi. So reading it or any of
its commentaries is not going to give much of an insight except perhaps
on the level of intelligence which is very relative in nature.
Therefore, unable to realise the absolute.
Please note, I am just curious and no offence is meant to anyone esp the
followers of Hare Krishna movement which follows the Bhakti Marg.
All thoughts appreciated and accepted with open mind.
God Bless
