The Mandir Society of Australia, Canberra is to perform the
kumbhabhishekham of its new Vishnu Shiva temple on June 1, 1997 according
to agamic rituals. The main deity in the moolasthaanam is Lord
Venkateswara. The other deities are Shiva Lingam, Subramanya, Ganesha,
Radha Krishna, Ram Darbar, Maha Shakti, Navagrahams, Nandi and Garuda. The
idols are in black granite as well as in white marble i.e. a combination of
both North and South Indian styles. The vimanas of the temple have been
built in the Dravidian style. The temple has come up on the basis of
voluntary contributions of money, materials and labour. The
kumbhabhishekham, performed following both the Pancharatra and Saiva
agamas, will be a four day event starting off on Thursday 29 May and will
be conducted under the presence of HH Sambamoorthy Sivachariar from Chennai
along with his band of priests, as well as local priests. Following the
kumbhabhishekham, mandalabhishekham for the deities will be performed for a
period of 48 days. Please mail me at rsmani@dynamite.com.au if you need
further information on the event, or you wish to contribute in any form or
manner to the successful completion of the event.

Thanks,

Mani
