Hi,
I must say, Mr. Ram Chandran that the transcript of your discussion
made excellent reading. I was surprised by the fact that you did not
mention the concept of Advaita of which I am sure you are aware.
Most religions (Christianity, Islam, Judaism etc.) and sects (many
within the "Hindu" religion) are based upon the concept of duality
(the concept that God and man are distinct) as opposed to Advaita
(Advaita - A=not and dvaita=two (Not Two or not separate). By personal
experience I can say that explaining the concept to Christians and
Muslims that man can reach that state of godhood and be one with god
is extremely difficult.
