Dear ghen,

There are two energies of Lord Krishna. One is the inferior energy or
the material energy which is composd of matter in its different elements
namely earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, intelligence and false ego.
( ref. bhumiir aapo.. 7.4 ). Besides this there is a superior energy
which comprises the living entities. (ref. apareyam itas tv anyam 7.5).
Lord Krishna is the cause of both these energies (ref. etad yonini 7.6).
He is the energetic. He is not in contact with the material energy as
it is the separated energy. (7.4). But nevertheless He is the
controller of both the material nature ( ref. mayadhyakshena prakriti 9.10 )
& the spiritual nature( ref. iswara sarva bhutanam 18.61 ). When a
jiva or living entity falsely identifies with the material nature, he
thinks that "I control the material nature in various capacities as
an American, an Engineer etc.", he is said to be under illusion. The
constitutional positional of the living entity is to serve Krishna
directly because Krishna is the master of spiritual & material natures
& we are his servants. But this false identification with material
nature is practically impossible to overcome unless one surrenders to
Krishna ( ref. daivi hy esa guna 7.14 ). Once one reaches the spiritual
world, he does not return to the material world. ( ref. yad gatva na
nivartante 15.6 ). One's position in the spiritual world made up of the
superior energy is eternal. That is the nature of the spiritual world
as against the material nature which is temporary( ref. paras tasmat
tu bhavo 8.20 ). Lord Caitanya who is an incarnation of Krishna has
given us the process of transcending the material nature. The process
is to hear & chant the names of Krishna. This is authorized in a
number of verses in the Gita( ref. satatam kirtayanto mam 9.14,
yagnanam japa yagno smi 10.25 etc.,. ) & also other Upanishads &
Puranas. In summary, Gita describes the multitudinous energies of the
Lord & the process by which one may transcend the material nature to
become eternally situated as his loving & loved devotee.

Please send your questions to shyamasundar@hotmail.com or
rajaram@aztec.asu.edu or both. I'll be glad to answer the same. I'd
suggest that you thoroughly read Bhagavad Gita As It Is by His Divne
Grace A.C. Bhktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. You'll surely get the best
possible grasp of Vedanta.

Regards
Rajaram V.
