I am writing a paper for a religion class. The paper is on how Bhagavad-Gita
shows the nature of the higher and lower self.
The way my teacher described the higher and lower self went something like
this. We think we are American but we are really not, because our being
American passes away. It is only our soul that passes on after we are dead.
So our being American is our lower self, and our immortal soul is our higher
self.
Do you know what part of the Bhagavad-Gita I need to read in order to find
out about the higher and lower self? Could you please help explain to me what
the higher and lower self is and how they relate to the Bhagavad-Gita? If you
