In regard to your message about the thread to ward off the "evil eye": You
write that you are concerned with the thread posing a safety hazard. In
which sense are you consider this? If the difficulty you're experiencing
with the thread on the baby's arm is due to the tautness of the thread,
then it may simply be loosened. If the concern is about the child wearing
the thread, then proper judgement must be made. I do not see how a thread
could pose a safety problem if the knot is well-done and the ends are
well-trimmed.
