Lakshmi, worshipped by Hindus as the Mother of the
universe and the very embodiment of the compassion of
the Divine Absolute, is not a "good luck charm".
The presence of Lakshmi in iconic form is always
considered auspicious, as she is also the presiding
deity of wealth according to the Veas.
