: Hello,
: I am a 15 years old girl from Holland.
: I am looking for the meaning of the word "dharmashastra".
: I found this word in a booklet about India.
: It has something to do with hinduism but I can't find what exactly.
: Could you please help me? Thank you in advance.

Response:
The Sanskrit word "Dharma" means religion (or righteousness) and "Shastras" means religious writings. Dharmashastras are the secondary scriptures of Hinduism, which include moral, ethical, and social laws for Hindus. (BP)
