: The word ananda came up in a conversation with friends the other day. I know the basic English meaning is bliss, but I remember (from a class long ago) that there is a deeper meaning to it. I also vaguely remember it being associated with a phrase like "sit chat ananda." I'm sure I butchered the phrase, but if you can help me with the meaning of it and the deeper meaning of ananda, I would appreciate it.

Dear Friend, it is "Sat" "Chit"/Chid Ananda, but we can sit and chat about bliss. This is the essentail formula for who we are. The is the basis of Sanatan Dharma/Hinduism and the profound meaning behind the salutation "Namaste." Realizing the truth of Satchidananda is the first profound realization of more to come. We are all, essentially, Truth (Sat), Light/Energy (Chid) and Bliss/Love (Ananda).
