Since nobody has yet replied to your question, I'll give a brief answer.
On one level there are no differences: Hinduism is really only a collective name (first given by foreigners) to the various beliefs of the people living in Hindustan, It would, therefore, include Buddhism and Jainism.
However, Buddhism did branch out as a separate belief system some 2300 years ago.
Differences: B is more dogmatic about beliefs than Hinduism. Less elastic. More focused on one figure (the Buddha). Dharma in B less specific. No reliance on Brahmins and rituals of Vedas etc... Different holy books...
Did you knowthat the Buddha is regarded by Vaishnavites as the 9th incarnation of Vishnu?
