There is no limit to what one may pray for. Some may pray for the welfare of the world, others may pray for knowledge and wisdom, and still others may pray for success in their endeavors, health and happiness or for material gains. One prays for whatever that person wishes to accomplish. People visit temples for prayers and worship and to attain divine consciousness. Just as one goes to a library to study, a devotee goes to a temple to practice the presence of God.
To know more about Hinduism, you must have an open mind
