Alain Danielou

I have a question for list members, if you would be so kind to
give me the benefit of your opinions.

I consider myself a "Western-style" Hindu in that after years of studying
Eastern Religions and many more teaching and practicing Hatha Yoga, I have
developed a personal polytheistic synthesis deriving its inspiration from the
great living polytheistic traditions of the Indian subcontinent (i.e Hinduism
and Nyingmapa Vajrayana Buddhism), but celebrating the deities of my own
particular cultural traditions from the Graeco-Roman Pantheon.

In my most recent readings, I have encountered the writings of Alain Danielou,
I find his work most interesting: *HINDU POLYTHEISM*, *THE GODS OF LOVE AND
ECSTACY: THE TRADITIONS OF SHIVA AND DIONYSUS*, and *WHILE THE GODS PLAY*.
I would appreciate hearing from list members opinions on the works of this
author. Please feel free to email your responses, I will summarize if you
wish.
