National Federation of Indian American Associations Proudly Presents:
" THE SECOND GENERATION CONFERENCE"
September 2 - 5, 1994

THEME: "STEPPING INTO THE 21ST CENTURY: CHOICES - CHANGES - CHALLENGES"
WHAT IS IT?
This is a non-sectarian conference for all Indian Americans intended
to reflect upon our position as an ethnic group of America and decide
on the best course of action for advancement in the future.
WHAT AGE GROUP?
There will be 2 simultaneous conferences - one for the first generation
and one for the second. The second generation includes IAs from 17 till
30 years of age.
WHAT WILL BE DISCUSSED?
1) Unity in Diversity
2) Cultural Preservation
3) Political Participation
4) Stereotypes: Perceptions of Indian-Americans in the Mass Media
5) Women's Forum
6) Campus Issues
7) Indian Artistic Expressions
The above topics will be discussed through a variety of means:
keynote speech, workshops, debates, group discussions, talk shows.
SPECIAL SESSION: CAREER & NETWORKING SESSION
This special session serves to:
1) provide info about any career
2) Meet people and find out about opportunities in different careers
The session will be split up five ways:
1) Medicine / Health Sciences
2) Engineering / Technical Fields
3) Law / Politics
4) Business / Related Fields
5) Other Fields
WHAT ELSE WILL BE THERE?
Friday night -- DANCE!!
Saturday night -- CULTURE SHOW!!
Sunday night -- AWARDS BANQUET!!
