Read "The Holy Science" by Swami Sri Yukteswar. The book is continuously
in print.  There are about 25 pages on the Yugas or Hundu calender  ages
and about 75 pages on Vedic wisdom related to yoga. Still, he has a great
deal to say about the yuga system in the short space alloteed,  and
explanations of certain calendar errors introduced by Hindu kings in
ancient times.
