My two cents:
V.K.Krishna Menon was India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations and argued
very forcefully India's position on Kashmir in the world body. He probably still holds
the record for some of the longest speeches at the UN. He was also the Federal Defence
Minister for some time. He was somewhat discredited after the 1962 Chinese invasion due
to India's unpreparedness.
