Let's take a step back and look at the paragraph in Krishna's post
which I'm assuming offended you:

>That's the problem in this Age of Kali-- people are not generally
>interested in God. They want to find someone who tells them that what
>they are doing is okay. Hence, many popular swamis these days don't
>speak out against meat-eating and illicit sex. And this is exactly why
>so many people go for chinmayananda, vivekananda, and rajneesh... and
>dislike Swami Prabhupada and ISKCON.

This statement basically says the following:

a) people are not generally interested in God
b) people want to keep doing what amuses them while still "feeling religious"
c) people want to eat meat and have illicit sex
d) there are people who say it's OK to do so, and people who say it's not
e) since people in the first category basically allow part (c), people
in part (b) prefer them to Prabhupada and ISKCON

Is this fanaticism? I would hope not, because the sentiments
expressed can be found in the Gita, straight from Krishna.
So did Krishna really do anything wrong? Other than being a
bit more abrasive than you would perhaps like, probably not.

If you want proof of the people disliking/bashing ISKCON for sticking to
it's beliefs, you don't need to check too far back into the archives.
The mindset of "do what you want - it's OK" if quite prevalent around here.

I believe that Prabhupada made a comment to the extent of "we could
get a lot more followers if we watered down our beliefs." However, he
added "one moon is worth a thousand stars." My apologies if I've
quoted out of context.
