NOT a Vivekananda Bash

It puzzles me why I see so many Vivekananda organizations and societies
mentioned vs. Ramakrishna. Ramakrishna is the Avatar, Vivekananda was his
foremost disciple. In most of the writings, V. seems to have projected a
rather sizable ego.

V. criticized Ramakrishna on many occasions for HIS associating and
comforting the poor, the unwashed, the untouchables. Ramakrishna would
most gently put V. in his place by challenging him to realize AND admit
the ONENESS in the beggar AND Bramin; the purity of the Ganges AND the
gutter water. After all, if V. was to profess non-discrimination, then he
should start practicing it in all aspects. Ramakrishna loved his dearly.

Is this fascination with Vivekanada similar to the practice that so many
Christians churches follow in emulating Paul instead of Christ.

V. was a great man and accomplished much in setting up the structures
needed for following the path of Ramakrishna, but he was a man, fully
realized maybe, but still a man. Ramakrishna is GOD and if more people in
this world could follow HIS teachings directly and accept the things HE
instructed of us, we wouldn't be having these stupid "religious" wars
anywhere.
