Agreed.
aradhito yadi haris, tapah tatha kim
naradhito yadi haris, tapah tatha kim
"If Hari is worshiped, what is the use of austerities (tapah).
If Hari is not worshiped, what is the use of austerities (tapah)."
The word 'tapa' actually has a very deep meaning,. It is not limited to
the process of sitting in an isolated place and performing austerities. It
includes all endeavors for advancement, both material and spiritual, since
they all require atleast some austeritiy.

ouch! Please read the Mirabai's bhajan again, "Only LOVE can affect the
Lord" and note that Mirabai is talking specifically about love for Krishna.
A person who loves Lord Krishna is indeed out of these mundane bounds like
vegetarianism, etc. However, people like Vivekananda who, due to there extreme
ignorance, speak against Lord Krishna DO NOT qualify for such exemptions.
here is a statement by Vivekananda to show his stance on Gita and
consequently Lord Krishna:
"You will get closer to Heaven by your biceps than by the Gita."
- Vivekananda
FYKI, I (don't know about all ISKCON'ers) REJECT Vivekananda and RK because
they were ATHEISTS and not because they ate meat or whatever. I pick on his
meat eating and smoking only to show that he was a fallen person EVEN on
the material platform what to speak of the ahteistic views he propounded.
Please make a note of it.
Hari Bol!
