Community Activity
Hello Everyone,
HSC at Georgia Tech has started another activity involving
community service. We have joind Hands On Atlanta (HOA) in helping
the Atlantan community and its diverse people. Last Saturday, we
joined many other volunteer groups to renovate C.W. Hill elementary
school. The renovation was sponsored by Andrews Consulting and was
carried on by HOA volunteer organizations. I am glad to say HSC was
one of them. Fifteen HSC members participated by performing multi-task
works. Some of us were involved in improving the exterior look of the
school (i.e., yard work, planting flowers, spreading wood chips, etc..)
while others were applying their talents inside the school by painting
murals, reshelving the library books. Some members were also involved
in tutoring children or teaching them how to play innovative games like
chess. The activities lasted for 6-7 hours, but everyone were
enthusiastically involved in their work. As you can see the flexibility
of work so everyone enjoyed doing what they liked the most.
This was our first time doing such activity and we plan to do
more of this. From now on we have dedicated last weekend of each month
in volunteer work with HOA. We are all proud of this progress and I
hope you will start similar program in your respective area.
