An Introduction to Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

In his presence, thousands around the globe have awakened to the joy
of their Being. A glimpse beyond time and space is felt and lasting
transformation is evident. He says he does nothing: but all that is needed
to pull oneself out of the gloom happens. Many around the world stand as a
testimony of this blossoming. The master is like a window. Through him, you
can see the infinite. He is limitless compassion and grace. To know him is
to be touched by his child like simplicity and joy. In his presence one
experiences a profound silence that is beyond words. Joy,
playfullness, poetry, deep wisdom and a twinkle of mischief have all
come together as Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was born in an eminent family in South India. At a
tender age of 4, he could recite the entire Bhagwadh Geeta. He started
his studies in ancient Indian literature at the age of 8. Before he
was 17 he completed his education in modern science and vedic
knowledge. He travels around the world teaching "The Art of Living" in
which he has brought out ancient sciences to suit present day life.
Amongst several honors and laurels received, he has been conferred the title
of Yoga Shiromani by the President of India at the World conference of Yoga. He
has been the inspiration behind many charitable organizations around the
world. Ved Vignan Mahavidyapeeth established in Banagalore, India is
engaged in community services and is spreading vedic knowledge. Centers
of Vyakti Vikas Kendra have been founded all over India. In the U.S
they are called Art of Living Centers. Through The Art of Living course,
people have found tremendous transformation in their physical,
emotional and spiritual life.
