Swami Shoddhananda's Talk at Georgia Tech
On April 11, Swami Shoddhananda gave a talk organized by the HSC of
Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA. Swamiji's talk was titled "Manava Dharma: The
Universal Religion of Humankind." He started off his talk by singing some
bhajans along with the enthusiastic audience. After establishing a sense of
calm and peace with the bhajans, he launched into the main part of his talk.
He stressed the spirituality that can be seen in everyday life. He emphasized
that we should see everyone as part of God and as spiritual beings rather than
white, black, etc. He also mentioned that by serving our fellow humans, we
serve ourselves and we attain peace. Swamiji gave practical insights into how
we can practice spirituality in our daily lives; he stressed daily practice of
meditation is absolutely necessary. He ended the talk by answering quite a
few questions. Indeed, the audience wanted to ask more questions even when
time was up. The Georgia Tech HSC chapter felt that Swamiji's talk was
useful for the regulars who showed up as well as for possible new members who
came.
