Images of Gods and Goddesses on Shoes

American Hindus against defamation expresses its outrage at the introduction of shoes with images of Hindu Gods and Goddesses imprinted on them.

Hindu culture condisers shoes to be "dirty" and it is an age old Hindu custom to remove shoes before entering temples and even homes.  To put images of Gods and Goddesses, which are revered and worshipped by a billion strong Hindu community is not just a mark of ignorance but seemingly a deliberate attempt to denigrate Hindu dharma and Hindus around the world.

American Hindu Agaist Defamation (AHAD) demands that the manufacturers/markerters of these shoes, Fortune Dynamic, a company based in City of Industry, CA withdraws these shoes immediately and extend an apology to the Hindu community for this inconsiderate act.

AHAD is launching a community and internet based protest against these shoes and its markters.  We urge the Hindu community to register their protest strongly and unequivocally.  The protest may be registered by visiting :

American Hindus Against Defamation is a coalition of major Hindu organizations in North America.  It is sponsored by World Hindu Council of America (VHP-A).  AHAD was at the forefront in protesting the offensive Aerosmith album cover for Nine Lives, inappropriate inclusion of Bhagwad Gita shloka in Eyes Wide Shut, treatment of Hindu deities in Xena : Warrior Princess etc.
