YOUR BIRTH CHART HOUSES WILL SHOW THE NATURE: -

THE INNER YOU YOUR BIRTH CHART READINGS

¨      In this section of the reading we look at the Sun, the Moon, and each of the planets. As each PLANET is introduced, a brief paragraph will tell the area of life and living most affected by the planet. These planet placements begin to paint the astrological picture of the inner you. 

The SUN

¨      The Sun's position in the zodiac is very important. It's the core of the individual; the overriding nature and will. This is the influence that describes the "you" that is trying to be in this lifetime. This is your "awake" side, your consciousness and outer-directed individuality. The nature of your Sun sign is your true colors that you display to world day in and day out.

SUN

¨       The Sun in Vedic astrology is called Ravi, or Surya. He is considered to be mild malefic, in consideration of the hot, dry in nature. As in western tropical astrology, the Sun rules the Sign of Leo. 

¨       He is exalted in the sign of Aries, and he is in his fall in the sign of Libra. The Sun is known as the Atmakaraka. This comes from the Sanskrit atma meaning soul, and karaka meaning indicator.

¨       As "indicator of the soul" the Sun is the giver of life. In Vedic astrology each planet is a karaka, or indicator. The Sun is the indicator of the father, our ego, honours, status, fame, the heart, the eyes, general vitality, respect and power.  The great Vedic astrologer and sage, Parasara describes the Sun in his classic text Brihat Hora Shastra: "The Sun's eyes are honey-colored. He has a square body. He is of clean habits, bilious, intelligent and has limited hair."

¨       The Sun is in his strongest placement directly overhead in the 10th House. He is also strong in the other Kendras, or Angles. These are the Houses 1, 4, and 7.

¨       The Sun also does well in what are called the upachaya, or growing Houses. These are the Houses 3,6, and 11. He is particularly beneficial for the fire sign Ascendants of Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. His nature, or temperament is pitta, or fiery, and the gemstone associated with the Sun is the red ruby. The Sun's metal is Gold and his direction is East.  His day, of course, is Sunday, and he comes into full maturity and brilliance at age 22.

¨       The Sun, Surya was married to Samjna and she bore him three children. Because of the Sun's unbearable brilliance Samjna left him and left Chaya (shadow) in her place as wife, while she goes off to contemplate her marriage.  Because the Sun is so bright, and at the same time not bright enough, as the saying goes, he does not discover this deception until Chaya, the shadow wife, has bore him three more children.

¨       Enraged he goes to his father-in-law to find what has happened to his beautiful Samjna. Tvastr, his father-in-law explains that his daughter found the Sun too bright to bear. So, in conciliation the Sun allows Tvastr to put him on his cutting lathe and shear away his excess brilliance until the Sun became a beautiful sight to behold. Surya then reunites with his wife, Samjna and has 3 more children. This is where the excess vanity of the Sun exerts a malefic influence.

The MOON

¨      The Moon's position in your chart is almost as important as the Sun, but the influence is different. The moon is your emotional life. It relates to immediate emotional responses. It's those reactions instilled by conditioning; the memory and learned habit patterns. It shows how you react to those around you based on the sum of your conditioned viewpoint and unguarded self-projection.  

¨     The Moon's place in the chart shows a considerably different side of the nature, a side fostered by emotions, upbringing, and habit patterns that have developed over time.
