I'd have to agree with the last post here...
The reason that the Brides burnt themselves was to avoid being captured
by Muslim invaders who would have RAPED and done other VILE things to them.
This is documented and still told of in various temples in India that were
invaded and almost trashed by the Moghuls.
Why is it that other Hindus are SO intent on trashing their Religion. If
you don't like it WALK AWAY. Thats the beauty of it.
