Well said, Ken.
To my way of thinking, a better approach to resolving these questions
of spiritual authority is to try living the path to God that you have
selected, and, when you have succeeded in your practice, ask God, if
the question of scriptural authority still seems important to you.
It does little good, in my experience, to argue when there is not
already a fundamental agreement concerning what is right, or true, or
authoritative. It seems almost that to argue, wasting time that could
otherwise be spent in sadhana or in good acts, is a repudiation of
your path, or at least, wrong priorities. The emphasis always seems
to be "My path is better than your path!" and the focus, "Me!" or "My!"
and not, "path."
