Dear Deepaji:
Right now, I will only say that the Hindu wedding ceremony is based on
the marriage of SuryA with Soma. This is described in RigVeda 10:85.
The authoress is Sage SuryA. To this however, a lot of regional
traditions have been added, but they are not core of the ceremony. If
you'd so like, and would be willing to give me some time, I could write
about the verses.
