In this discussion regarding SRH, the issue of moderation delay
has come up many times. While it is not my intention to oust Ajay
Shah, I think I should address the issue of moderation delay
in the current SRH.
Simply put, the moderation delays seen on SRH and the unpredictability
of the moderation cycles has dampened a lot of discussion on the
newsgroup. I've noticed it, and others have noticed it. Even people
other than the RFD proponents and moderators have spoken out about it.
In order to quantify the delays, I analyze the available portions of
the SRH archive, which cover 3 months. The data gathered from this
has been put together in a variety of formats, and has been assembled
into a web page. Please note that you'll need a graphical browser to
see this page in full.
I believe that the data adequately supports the claim that SRH's
moderation led by a sole individual has led to some very long
delays which have often killed the discussion on the newsgroup.
