I have cited a verse from the Rg Veda in the thread "Religious meaning of
Jagannatha" where the name Krishna is used for the supreme controller.
I also know of another verse in the Rg Veda samhita (9th mandala) where the
Lord is referred to as a cowherd, but it will take me a while to find this
verse.... The verse I cited in the Jagannatha thread is actually cut from
an older post that I had made on ARV which H. Krishna Susarla forwarded to
alt.hindu sometime this summer, so it should be in the archive with a name
like "Hymns from the Rg Veda".

They might not use the name Krishna as often, but it is assured that they
do speak of Krishna in the BG 15.15 -- vedaish ca sarvair aham vedyo
(By all the Vedas, I [Krishna] am to be known)
