Is this the real reason for the re-org? Re: SRH: There is a need to be careful here Re: Religious unity

: The HSC is the Hindu Students Council, an organization with branches
: at many universities, etc.

: >(c) WHAT HAVE THEY GOT TO DO WITH SRH?

: >From http://rbhatnagar.csm.uc.edu:8080/hindu_universe.html

: and then later
: "GHEN also sponsors Soc.Religion.Hindu, Alt.Hindu, Hindu Digest."

: So, it seems that the HSC "sponsors" soc.religion.hindu, either
: directly or indirectly. You can check those statements yourself.

Come, come come! I can also say that I sponsor SRH or SCI or SCIK etc
but does it count. If HSC say that they do - then they must be made to
realise that they cannot sponsor SRH but members of their organisation
can be active participants of this newsgroup.

If that, HSC business, is the grouse then the whole matter could have
been settled more amicably. But I am afraid you have finally given the
real reason (it appears to be the case) for the active participation in
the srh-reorg.

If you have some disagreement with the HSC then YOU SHOULD AND COULD DO
IT OUTSIDE THE AMBIT OF SRH.

AT the same time I find it disconcerting the HSC have the gall to say
they support SRH. And I sure this will form another thread.

: >(d) WHY BRING THEM INTO THIS -

: Because, if they "sponsor" SRH, then their definition of "who is a
: Hindu" would seem like a pertinent one.

I REPEAT NO ONE INDIVIDUAL OR AN ORGANISATION CAN SUPPORT A NEWSGROUP -
IF HSC HAS SAID IT THEN THEY MUST BE MADE TO WITHDRAW THAT STATEMENT.

: >DO THEY HAVE ANY SAY IN THE MANNER THIS
: >NEWSGROUP IS RUN? DO THEY HAVE ANY BLOCK VOTE?

: The answer to both questions is "I don't know". You'll have to ask
: someone else.

NO, the answer to this has already been alluded to. Paranoia is the name
of the game. People feel that HSC runs the show here. Lets not start
believing all of this. But surely we must remove this misconception that
HSC runs the show here.

: >HSC is a red herring here? Perhaps, if I could speculate, I wouls say
: >that this appears to be an axe grinding exercise?

: Find out your facts before repeating your oft-heard charge of
: axe-grinding. Let me turn it around - perhaps your continued claims
: are indicative of something?

Pai, the mud will not stick. Your answers above are indicative of the
belief you hold that SRH is RUN BY HSC. I am sure this is not the case.
And if HSC does say that they sponsor SRH, they must be made to withdraw
that statement.

: >: Could we keep this at the verifiable and rational level, please?
: >
: >Could we also keep this to the confines of usenet please : read above.

: Read the page I mentioned.

If this was the main grouse - then perhaps it could have been done in
abetter manner. I had rad it long time ago and will do so again very
closely this time round.

But I must admit that you are the who is not in the real world - not me.
If you really believe that HSC controls life here.

A few points

(a) HSC cannot control SRH
(b) HSC cannot sponsor SRH
(c) If HSC has said any of the above, then it our duty to ensure that
the said statements are removed from their publicity material. SRH IS A
PUBLIC ASSOCIATION OF PEOPLE, HSC is A PRIVATE ASSOCIATION OF PEOPLE.
Just because someone participates in SRH does it mean that they are
members of HSC. I do not think that is the case. If this is the
conception that is being spread around then it must be removed.
