I have great respect for Sikhism, it has shown a marvellous example
for communal harmony. But,
the faith or the respect you give to some of the non-deserving
Gurus of the recent era led to total mis-representation of Sikhism
and the ideals it stood for, for example though Bhindranwala was
a creation of Indira Ganndhi, his pronouncements were widely
accepted by Gurudwara and SGPC, making him very powerful within
the community. Is there any forum where you discuss the social
aspects of Sikhism other than SGPC, which is more of a political
wing of Akali Dal? I have also heard examples of Surjit Singh
Barnala being asked to serve penance by the religious body,
obviously for reasons of political interest. I would like
to hear your opinion.
