I disagree, in gaudiya vaishnavism there is no difference between the "idol"
of God in the temple and God Himself.

God is everywhere, but the so called "idol" is the _person_ God (according to
Gaudiya vaishnavism). The concept of God as an eternal (and the Supreme)
*person* is very very important.
