NOW THIS IS NOT GOING TO GIVE HINDU CULTURE A GOOD NAME

Bhai, I suppose you are a hindu, and want to bring glory to hindustaan. Lekin
aapko kyaa juntaa kaa sympathy milegaa agar aap is tarah sab ko insult
karenge. Ugar aap socte hain ki kuch gut ke logon ko milaakar hindustaan
banaalenge to phir aap me aur khalistaan aur JKLF etc. me farak kyaa raha
jaayegaa? Main yeh nahin kaha rahaa huun ki brahmins are opportunists. Yeh
sabh galat British propaganda hain. Pur mass sympathy ke liye aap aise shabda
like "Judging by your last name you were not \"fortunate\" enough to have
been born into a brahmin houshold." istemaal karenge, to Mr "sunair"
(goldsmith) bhai ke abhimaan ko chot pahuncegaa. Unhe to yahi lagegaa ki
British, khaalistaani, JKLF and firangi propaganda kahin sahi to nahi?
Haan agar Mr. sunair (using it just for reference, cause I do not know the
name) bhaisaahab ne kuch hamaare desh ke baare me ultaa sidhaa kaha diiyaa ho
to kripaa karke "Indian" jaise general term istemaal karein. Isse hum sab
bhaaratiiya bhaayiiyon ko is desh ke anaadi kaal se chali aa rahi vaidika
paramparaa se identify karne kaa shubha avsara milegaa, aur terrorist groups
like Khalistaani, JKLF etc. ki desh me aatanka aur segregation ki bhaavanaa
ko failaane ka objective nishphal ho jaayegaa.
Apne dharma me prema honaa koi buri baata nahin hain, pur jub tak ho sake
duusare dharma waalo se su-mishta bhaashaa me hi bolnaa caahiyee. Agar woh
kuch galat salat propaganda karne lage to unko chornaa nahin hai, pur in
general, I think the "sunair" would also be a hindu as much as a brahmin is.
Yeh main isliiye kaha rahaan hun kyonki duusre community me bhi rational log
hain, and most of them are. Our image will go down if we show such
segregating tendencies. Not only will we lose the support of the "sunair",
but others will have ample opportunity to reject us from any of their serious
contemplations. Pahale din ke cakravarti raaja mahaaraajaa bhi apni dharma me
aasakta the, pur bin bulaaye woh duusron ke abhimaan ko chot pahuncaate nahin
they. Isliiye, they were respected and reverred by their own community
people, as well as by the people of other communities within their kingdom
and also by their enemise and foreign travellers etc. Kisii ko bin vajah
insult nahin karnaa caahiye.
Meri aapse yahi binti hain ki aap desh me suhaardya hi failaayen.
Kshamaa kiijiiye, maine aapkaa bahut samaya barbaad kiiyaa. Main ne "sunair"
bhai ka post nahin dekhaa, aur aap ko bahut buraa bhalaa kaha diiyaa. Perhaps
I am wrong in the issue. Then the fault is all mine.
Thank you.

P.S. Mujhe apne desh ki praaciina vaidika sanskriti ko dwindle hote dekh
bahut dukha hotaa hain. Par iske liiye hamein ek honaa hogaa taaki separatist
forces like those operating in Kashmir, Punjab and in other places can be
soundly defeated.
Disclaimer: I am not a congressi, although I love their "Milee sur meraa
tumhaaraa to sur bane hamaaraa". ;-)

Subject: astronomical/ astrological basis of days of week?

Preamble
========
Even though basically the question i would like to ask deals
with astrology, i am venturing to post it here, due to two
reasons:
(1) The determination of day of week is important in many hindu
rituals, including sandhya, and other deity-specific fasting/
and pujas. (like Monday being imp for Shavites, Saturday being
imp for Srinivasa devotees, friday for mahalakshmi, etc)
(2) my earlier post on astrology groups has not produced any
result.
The question
============
Is there an astrological/ astronomical definition to the days
of week? That is, is there a way to determine if it is tuesday
today based planetary/star postions? (my hunch says NO).
The implications
================
(a) are the days of week (mon, tues etc) referred to any aagamas
or puraanas or other traditions same as what we have today?
(2) The english (gregorian etc) calendar has been tampered with
in history. Some tues day was declared as some friday or so by
a pope and all calendars were reset so as to ensure matching of
equinoxes with the calendar dates as per biblical records.
(3) Western calendars were even tampered much earlier with
introduction of jun and july(?).
(4) Definition of international date line is of quite recent
origin. This actually determines if a day is today or yesterday!
Not-so-related questions:
Is there any basis for declaring day of week in sandhya?
and is there any rationale in defining raahu-kaalam?
is there some meaning in dedicating certain days of week to
be special to certain gods?(or devotees of certain gods)
