Jaldhar_ji: I have to disagree. Yes, ancestory, tradition community,
etc. are very important. But they are not "everything". Please re-
think your position. It looks like that you are a Shiva-bhakta.
If you look at the Shiv Purana, you will quite a number of tales,
where the Lord gets pleased by quite simple things, which are
sincere. That is why the Puranas call him Bhola-Nath. So, what
paramparaas, and traditions are we speaking about. The Lord,
and His Book, itself do not lay an undue emphasis on the "method"
but rather on the sincerity of heart. This should not drive one
to the opposite that traditions are of no use at all. But, I have
to disagree with a little element of extremism in your position 
too.
