This has been debated to death on this newsgroup, but the fact is that
Hinduism does not refer to any religion per se, at least certainly not to
anything defined as such in the Vedas. It is an umbrella term that includes
a number of different religious cultures, but it certainly does not refer
to a single system of belief.
