Hello!

My mother is a Hindu, as is my father.

They perform a variety of rituals, but dont know the meaning of them. When I
ask them 'why do you do this?' they reply 'our parents told us to do so'.

As a result of this, I stopped beliving in Hinduism. I dont belive in the
'Blind Leading the Blind'.

Is there anyone out there that can point me to a page (or other
reference) explaining Hinduism, and the reasons why various ceremonies are
performed?

Here are two of the recent questions I have asked them... and not got
satisfying answers:

What is the significance of Diwali?

During Diwali Puja - What is the point of washing silver coins of the
goddess laxmi in milk, adding some 'mithai', 'sindoor', etc...etc...

Why do we need so many Gods? What are their functions?

Is Sai Baba a God?

What is God according to Hindus?

Is there anyone out there that can answer any of these questions?

Have a nice day,

Dinesh.
